Individual Therapy
Have you ever felt stuck, ending up in the same patterns? Whether that be with relationships, work, family dynamics or friendships? Have you ever wanted to do deep work to understand yourself better? Have you ever wanted to learn more about how past traumas/experiences have shaped the way you show up in the present?
My style of individual therapy is focus on exploration and understanding and ultimately, building some self-compassion and self-love. I've referred to my style as "taking the scenic route"; after all, getting to understand oneself can't be rushed; it has to be slowly nurtured and organically grown. I am gentle, compassionate and validating in session, and also helpful when skills are needed to be imparted. I help hold a space for you - for whatever comes up. And know that I will remain steadfast, nonjudgmental and nurturing.
I'm a believer that feelings are the catalyst to change; when feelings come up in session, I allow them and share them with you as they crest and fall. Feelings are meant to be felt, and I will create a space to make it safe and tolerable.
I have practiced yoga for many years and because of it, I use mindfulness in my sessions. Using mindful activities such as meditation, body scan, and other grounding activities, promises many benefits including slowing down our thoughts/worries, increasing awareness into our emotionally-dysregulated and impulsive behaviors and inviting gratitude and stillness.
Together, we will process past traumas/adverse childhood experiences (ACE) through trauma therapies like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) or EFIT (Emotionally-Focused Individual Therapy). I am a big proponent of the Attachment Theory - which focuses on how our relationships with caregivers growing up shaped our present. I also integrate DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and impart tangible skills to help with regulating emotions and decreasing self-harm behaviors.
I will regularly collaborate with you about how treatment is progressing and after we've determined what your therapy goals are, I will routinely check in with those to ensure we're staying on track. Once you feel like you've got a strong sense of self and built emotional resilience, we can have a discussion about terminating therapy.
Individual therapy rate is $200 for 50 minutes. I do not accept insurances however, I am a contracted Lyra and Spring Health provider. I can provide a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement of services rendered. You can also use your Health Spendings Account card (pre-tax money)to pay for services.
