Supportive clinical supervision that also fosters professional growth
The path to licensure as an LMFT in California is lengthy and demanding. Beyond completing 3,000 hours, it requires providing quality clinical care, ensuring client safety, and balancing personal and professional responsibilities. This process can feel overwhelming, but the right support can make it more manageable.
Having been through this journey myself, I was fortunate to have supervisors who made me feel supported, heard, and guided. Their influence inspired me to create the same space for other clinicians. Supervision should be a place where you can be vulnerable, ask tough questions, and grow without fear of judgment. Understanding the challenges firsthand allows me to provide the guidance and reassurance needed during this critical stage of professional development.
A knowledgeable and supportive supervisor is essential for both personal and clinical growth. Research by Bernard and Goodyear highlights how effective supervision improves competency, enhances client outcomes, and reduces burnout. Beyond technical skills, a great supervisor offers emotional sustenance, helping you navigate the emotional toll of therapy work. With the right guidance, you’ll not only become a better clinician but also develop the confidence necessary to provide exceptional care to your clients.
In our work together, these are the areas that I can support you:
